The goal of this talk is to present a recent result obtained in collaboration with Jacob Bedrossian (UCLA) about non-invariance of Gaussian measures under the Euler flow in dimension 2. The first part will highlight the relevance of invariant measures for the study of some qualitative properties of the solutions to the Euler equations. The second part will present a simple strategy to prove non-invariance in this setting, and if time permits we will discuss possible interesting lines of work that this result opens.
