Algebraic Group Actions on Affine n-Space and the Linearization Problem SÉMINAIRE ANNULÉ À CAUSE DES GRÈVES

We start with a short survey on the Linearization Problem for actions
of reductive groups on affine $n$-space and recall some basic results. This is obviously
related to the structure of the infinite-dimensional algebraic group $GA_n$ of polynomial
automorphisms of affine $n$-space.
Then we will explain some recent work with Peter Russell about families of
group actions which has some interesting consequences, e.g. that every
non-finite reductive group action on affine 3-space is linearizable.
