The colored Jones polynomial of a knot and representations of the fundamental group of its complement to $SL(2;C)$.

I will talk about a generalization of the volume conjecture.
It would relate the asymptotic behavior of the colored Jones polynomial
of a knot to the volume, the Chern-Simons invariant, and the
Reidemeister torsion associated with a representation of the fundamental
group of the knot complement to $SL(2;C)$.
