Graphs, groups and non-positive curvature

Résumé :
A geometric group theorist likes to study countable groups by their actions on various metric spaces such as manifolds and cellular complexes (with graphs as a special case). I will explain how to build geometric models for groups and present properties of non-positive curvature that can appear in such models. I intend to show recipes for building many interesting examples, mostly using graphs of groups and CAT(0) cube complexes.
