6.27.8 Polynomial degree: degree
The degree command finds the degree of a polynomial.

degree takes one argument:
P, a polynomial given by its symbolic representation or
by the list of its coefficients.
- degree(P) returns the degree of P
(the highest degree of its non-zero monomials).
