Lukas Pottmeyer

Height functions play an essential role in the theory of Diophantine geometry. We will study height functions associated to dynamical systems
induced by rational functions on an algebraic closure of the rational numbers. We will relate some arithmetic properties of these height
functions with Julia sets of the associated rational function. A consequence of our main result is a positive answer to a question of
Narkiewicz from 1963.
