Deterministic Chaos in Sinaļ Billiard (1)

Description: On the figure 1,
we have periodic boundary conditions. (if the ball leaves on the right,
it comes back on the left, similarly for up/down). On figure 2, the
same ball moves on the plane, and the billard is periodic so that we
can observe its global motion.
Observation: the ball has deterministic but unpredictable behavior. On figure 2, its seems to follow a random walk. Why?
