I will talk about result work with Ben Lowe (Chicago) on some questions on closed minimal surfaces in hyperbolic three-manifolds of Kleinian surface groups. In particular, Uhlenbeck introduced a sub-class of quasi-Fuchsian manifolds which contains a closed minimal surface of small principal curvatures in order to study the parametrization of the moduli space of minimal surfaces in hyperbolic three-manifolds. We will address some questions on how this sub-class sits inside the quasi-Fuchsian space.
